2007 cobalt LT
I have a 2007 2.2L Cobalt LT stock engine. I do not know what gen it is. I'm guessing gen 2 but I could be wrong. I do have some experience with engine so I'm not a total noob. I want to work to know:
Spark plugs
Can I use stage 2 colder plugs?
What is a good brand?
Cams
Can I use cams that will keep my valves open longer on a stock engine?
and can I use a 2.4L head on a 2.2l engine?

there's no point in colder spark plugs unless you boost it. there's no point in cams because you would need a full intake/exhaust upgrade to even notice a slight difference. changing to a 2.4 head if even possible (never looked into it) wouldn't be worth it because it's not any more durable, mainly same parts besides possibly different cams. don't think it would bolt up.

Ok that makes sence. for the exaust, if i got a 2.5" or 3" header, down pipe, and muffler would this have any negitive effect on the stock engine. also a lager intake.

2.5 all the way around at most. injen CAI has the option of being CAI or SRI, so i'd go with that. if you plan on going boosted anytime soon, restraint from buying an intake because you'll have to buy another one down the road anyways

However.... there is a huge difference in confusing radios and confusing having an intercooler/heatexchanger, a bigass twin helix blower, a manifold with a snail thingy on it, not SS badges... hell on the front of the forum it indicated MY/engines. I don't see how he was even able to navigate to this section without knowing. That's like confusing your own EJ20 impreza for an EJ25 STi, or confusing the 3.7 new Mustang engine for a 5.4L supercharger GT500. Just saying. I know I'm an idiot but still.

To get back on subject. No the LE5(2.4VVT) head will not work on your motor. It will physically bolt up,but would be pointless since you couldn't run the VVT actuators. You would have to do a complete harness swap and ECU swap for that to work. You are also a gen2.As stated above,Colder plugs are not needed for N/A.If you go F/I,1 to 2 steps colder is best.Camming is nearly impossible thanks to the intake cam position sensor. There are a set of Comp stage 2 cams with the sensor floating around somewhere, but they have never been tuned in right(assuming whoever machined the sensor on,didn't line it up perfectly)My fingers are tired.I'm done typing lol
