2007 HP increase torque decrease
For the model years 2005 and 2006 the stock 2.2 L61 engine was rated at 145hp and 155lbs. of torque, however http://www.chevrolet.com/cobalt/specifications/ lists the 2.2 Ecotec at 148hp and 152lb.-ft of torque. Why the change? Is the factory tuning for the 2007 model year different or are these new numbers just a revalution of what the L61 was always putting out?

hp only jumped by 3, not worth anything.
Just retested the motor, manufacturing chould have change tollerances by a few thousandths, chould be the reason for the 3 hp up and 3 tq down.
Bottom line
Its the same engine and has the same amount of power. (not enough for me )
