2007 Pontiac G5... Fully built

Ok... So i finished my car today... I have 2007 Pontiac G5 2.2L L61...
My build is:
Wiseco 8.9:1 Forged
Eagle H-Beam Forged
Custom GM Port & Polish/ shaved 5,000 of an inch
Clevite rod bearings
ARP Rod studs

All my pics of the build and products are on myspace... ill post the link...
here: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...f-2ddef0fcb707

The site should be open to the public... if you would like to send me a friend request go ahead and do so. If you have any question, ask...

I just put 350 miles on the car, after the build, and everything seems to being going copacetic.... My AFR, with the p&p head, tends to be at 14.5/14.8 cruising... I'm waiting 1,000 miles and two oil changes before ill be able to get WOT AFR's...

Here is my story... I've had this car for almost two years... I was the first person in North Louisiana to have one. Period/ I am the first in Louisiana, and who knows, to spray a 75 shot of nitrous on a G5... I did this 4 months after buying the car... i got it to run a 14.5 at 98 with a 2.3 60ft'... however, i no longer have a time slip to prove it, so that information isnt provable besides by what i and my friends have seen...

Now I want to boost... I haven't heard of anyone else that has a turboed G5 that is built, hell i haven't heard of one that isn't built... Besides the G5 GT that is on youtube... and that thing looks slow! Here is my build list that i will start on this month...
Garrett GT3071R
Volcan Turbo/Intake mani
42lb injectors with harness
Custom IC piping *im a welder so ill tig and fab up all my own stuff*
Tail/HKS sequential BOV
Exedy Stage 2 clutch
And a trifecta tune... Or i may use a complete standalone... Haven't decided...

If im not the first, or if someone has already done it please let me know and show me proof... I don't want to think, and tell all my buddy's down here that im the first if its been done...

Thanks,
AdaM G5

Hi, sounds cool.

You realize a G5 is just a Cobalt right? not really breaking any new ground.....youre just doing it with fake carbon dash trim and a grille cover.

42#'s and a GT3071R.....one of these things doesnt belong.

Where did you get your ARP Rod Studs?
last i was told by them they do not make Rod, or main studs for the 2.2, 2.0, and the 2.4
they only made the head studs. did you make a mistake?
and you did all that work, and never changed the head gasket?

Maven they only said that cause everytime you post you say somthing nagitive! like how your ripping on this guy for having a g5, saying its a cobalt with a different grill and dash trim. who really cares?

Also with the GT30, you should be running 60's not 42's
let me know how the fit is, i have been hearing of people having to beat the fire wall back to fit the GT30, and GT35 in there.
i have the GT28 and it was a tight fit!

That G5 GT on youtube is boostedG5 on here. His car is far from slow. I think the estimates are at least 400whp. Please, don't check out the G5 forums.

Good luck, won't be the first built/boosted 2.2. But, you can be the first built G5....maybe?

Agreed on that turbo, you need some 60's at least, if not larger.

I dont know why the Canadians think everything i say is negative....... I guess theres no sarcasm on the northern side of the lakes? I dont think I randomly for no reason post negative things.....If I do post negative things it either sarcasm or there is a reason.

This is the exact reason I made the G5 remarks, its not like hes blazing new ground.....It would be4 like me making a thread like showing off my awesomeness at being the first black 2008 LS in NJ to have tinted windows.....not really an accomplishment, the build is coolo, no need to inflate your ego or make it seem epic by being the "first".

Again, my point exactly, and I dont even think there is a maybe. It wont be. /negativism

Brad isn't the least bit cocky, I can't believe you guys are calling him out because he said congrats then busted his stones in a 'nice' way.

Brad has forgotten more than most of you know about the Delta platform, and has put out a million times the effort to figure out the questions we have all asked a zillion times.

To call him cocky is incorrect.

He is right, and you can't deal with it.

Poor you, that isn't his problem, so stop being ******** over a couple words.

Sorry for sounding cocky... Def. didn't mean to shoot off that way, i guess im just really excited to have it done...

Yea, i know that the balts and G5's have the same 2.2 l61 motor... I was just meaning if anyone had a built/boosted G5... Kinda like the 350z and Infinity G35 have the same motor, but its still different to have a boosted Z than G35 in a way...

The ARP rods studs are ARP 2000's... They are an option with the Eagle H-Beam forged rods... I'm sure someone has the Eagle H-Beams that can vouch for me...

Sorry to say that the G5GT was slow... I just wasn't really impressed by the flyby video... im sure if he made up a good vid it would be great... I also wasn't impressed by the rate that the RPM's went up in his vid... But its cool, not trying to knock the dudes stuff... If it seemed that way i apologize...

I'll post pics up... Just hadn't had time... I'm in between getting ready to drive to Illinois for work, and breaking in the motor...

I went through all the math on the Garrett site and that's where i came up with 42lb injectors being enough for a GT3071R at 14lbs of boost with a fuel pressure constant at 45psi... However, i'll probably just buy the 60lbers, put them on, and call it a day...

Working on pics now... Any questions feel free to ask... Just plese if your hear to roast the car go somewhere else or PM me...

O! And yes, i do have a new head gasket... Its a Fel-Pro triple layer... I didn't get the Cometic bc i figured the Fel-Pro would be just fine...
