dont accelerate fast, shift around 2000-2500 rpm, neutral on hills, dont use your ac, keep the windows up, roll down the windows over ac, turn off the car if idling for more than 10 seconds, dont drive more than 55 mph.
lots of ways to do it, and a cold air intake would help, but chances are youll be on it more because of the power increase

You can get most intakes from reputable companies in the mid $200 range(Injen, AEM, GMPP, K&N etc). You go the super cheap way and get an intake off Ebay, but alot of the people who did had to modify it a bit to for it to work(Most common I saw was filing down the slot for the MAF connector and creating their own mounts). I'd rather buy from a reputable company.
The price on the exhaust systems are a bit higher. You can find a GMPP exhaust for a lil more than $500 I believe. Some other systems are cheaper.
Obviously with the money you'll spend on the two you could just use directly for gas. They will increase mpg though as long as you don't bog on it, but most people who install the 2 former items don't do it for MPG.
