600+ hp 2.2l?
you guys think its possible to achieve 600whp with a fully forged, bored, ported, and sleeved l61 with twincharged system combining a harrop tvs with a gt28r turbo?
i am saving up my money starting now through summer and i am taking the end amount and putting it towards my car. estimating to save about $7,500 with the 2 jobs i have currently.

if your looking for power that big...dont buy a TVS. f you insist on twincharging, then the M62 is a better choice to stock by, and you'd want a larger turbo...like a GT30..maybe GT35 even. idk..im not a turbo expert
regardless, the cheapest way to do it would be with a built head, forged bottom end, and a large turbo. Fueling is gonna be your choice. The end...

i'm sure a lnf could reach that easier than a 2.2.....

OMG this subject has been beaten to death.
Listen........ANY car can be fast. It all depends on how deep your pockets are. You can get a smart to run in the 10's if you really feel like it.
Also, I don't mean any offense by this, I'm just being frank, but you obviously are a newbie to car tuning. You need to do your research first. If, hypothetically, you were really going to go through with this, doing two different types of FI would not be your first choice.
Start watching vids and reading everything you can on people who have made four cylinders ungodly fast. Look at 9 second hondas, 9 second srt-4's, etc etc. See what the similarities are. Put thought into what they had to do to get to that level. Ask yourself questions like: What did they do to the physical aspects of the engine (boring, porting, etc), what kind of FI did they use, what boost are they running, what did they forge (answer: everything), what size intake/exhaust are they running, how did they solve fueling problems, etc etc. Just analyze what makes a four cylinder engine capable of running such low times.

First youd have to swap out just about every oem drivetrain, engine, and suspension part on your car.
After youve concurred that youd have to convert to full standalone cuz no way the stock computers gonna handle anything near that. And since NO ONE has gone standalone yet, that will be a mammoth project.
So in short like everyone else has stated... just not worth it!

I say start off smaller first. Get all the engine work done and throw a GT28 into the mix. Get used to driving a faster car, then move onto a larger turbo, ect. Just my .02. A 600hp fwd car doesn't sound too friendly to a person who is used to driving an n/a 2.2.

orrr... you can dismiss anything i just said that quickly. with an attitude like that you will never know enough to make 600hp. i only spoke the truth dude, you've got some research to do.

well.. i figured i could build a good turbo kit for 3,000, my friend has his own shop and connections to get pistons, rods, sleeves, etc. for cheaper than we would normally get it for. he would be doing the work for me for a decent price bc he is my buddy and the twincharge system has gone out the window so i will be saving a little money there to put into other parts.

I'm not trying to shoot your dream down, not saying twincharging won't work, but there is definitely more to it than you're proposing.

Like I said, though, I suggest starting by seeing what the similarities are between the 4 cyl guys that are running high horsepower. Look for the tiny things like what they did with compression and displacement. And look at their fueling. what sets them apart from the guys only running 300hp or less.
