After hp tuners will this work??

This is a full turbo kit from a mitsubishi laying in the floor of my father in laws shop.. he upgraded to a whole new kit and just let my father in law have it. its a garret turbo but i dont know how to tell which one, blitz bov, tial wastegate and ic. id need whole new piping but hes got a mandrel bender to do that in his shop. has the boost controller and the fuel rail and injectors he was using. id probably need to replace that, but are all the pieces sufficient? hell let me have it for the price of on the house if i want it. if not hes unloading it for 250$ to his friend so he can sell it for a whole lot more.

Should be, you can probably use your stock fuel rail and just upgrade the injectors... just gotta have a turbo manifold made, I believe hahn has one coming out... and then the usual stuff, intercooler piping, custom made downpipe and midpipe, vacuum line for the turbo, tap you oil pan and a braided line for the oil line to the turbo... and misc other things... but with hp you should be able to tune for it as long as you have an ss/sc or a 2.4 ss.

that has the oil line tapped for the turbo. the braided line is wrapped around the turbo. id just need to tap the pan. now that i dont have to buy a kit ill invest in the bottom end kit sooner. and i have a 2.2, im still waiting on hptuners.

It might save you a little bit of money to hold onto that. While you wait for the tuning solution to come out you could be doing stuff like fabbing up the piping. You can also maybe blast the turbo housing and get it looking all nice as well as check it for cracks. Then if you really want rebuild it with a new bearing. The main part you would need made is the manifold which Ive heard turbonetics and hanhs is working on. Since your father in law owns a shop you could save tons on labor. The main find you got there is the turbo and the intercooler. Pressure test the intercooler also.

You might want to find out what kind of mistubishi it was on or what kind of turbo it is...it might not flow right depending on what kind of turbo it is. Was this from a dsm, or was it aftermarket?

I'd imagine you'd be able to hold on to the FMIC, BOV, wastegate, oil lines and of course the turbo. Sounds like you've got new piping covered so then all you'd need is a manifold (I don't see why you wouldn't be able to buy a basic log manifold made for a Cavalier) and a tuning solution.

If that stuff is in good condition sounds like you just saved yourself quite a bit of money...

did you ask why he upgraded? most people only change out a few things on their turbos by simply pulling the part out and putting a new one in its place. if it works, you could be runnig boost well under $1000. but you do need to find out what turbo it is. some cars just come with pretty much a stage one running like 8 psi. this way you know if beefier injectors or fuel pump are needed. if its a garret, it should have a metal plate stamped on it with a part number. other than that, all you need is a manifold, and being able to tune the ecu. and i think greddy has a part that goes between your oil pan and oil filter that taps a oil line for what ever you need.
