I'm also interested in know'n where this setup would leave tha 2.2 auto LT balts. If this setup works (without future damage), then I'll grab that setup. But I'm not willing to increase performance if trans or something else fails or need replaced in near future. Not worth tha trouble, imo.

im not sure which one everybody has been using but if your going to try to turbo an auto balt then you will need one to keep the trans cooled down from the clutches in the trans slipping cuz there isn't any tune for the auto to adjust the the shift points and the way it shifts with more hp..

There is a great deal is misinformation and assumption going on here. Let me clarify. HPTuners does in fact already support tuning for the General Motors TCM (trans control module) model T42. They do not have support of the ECM (engine control module) model E16. The problem is that you can not tune the TCM directly. It has to be done through the ECM. Since HPTuners doesn't support the ECM, you can't tune the TCM either.
Trans fluid coolers are very common, simple devices. A well known brand is B&M. They are used to help with the added heat load imposed on the trans due to the extra power. Most of that heat is generated by your torque converter during acceleration.

well correct me if im wrong but the trans is gonna slip some under boost during normal driving conditions cuz you can't program the tcm for increased line pressure for the add hp from boost and i may be wrong bout this to but i would think that any time it slips it would cause more heat to be produced. your right bout the torque converter generating more heat but i just think my theory woul be correct to though. as i said correct me if im wrong. i dont want to be givin stupid and incorrect info to others.. by the way halfcent did you ever turbo your auto 2.2?

yea i've heard it would help but would probably not completly fix the problem if it was boosted though..

Yes, clutch pack slippage will generate friction heat. But that only occurs during the shift. Once it's in gear, there is no slip. The largest heat source remains the converter.
The Shiftplus unit will increase the shift pressures, which lessens the slipping. But there are additional factors that a flash tune can do. Like modify the shift points (when it shifts), and you can remove certain limiting factors like torque limiters.
I have not turbo'ed my car yet. I still wish to. There are many factors that have stopped me from going forward for now, but they are not permanent.
