Auto to Manual Swap

What all do you need to do this cause I found a cheap manual tranny with harnesses and such with a clutch but what else needs to be done?

these cars more computer then mechanical, You would need lots of custom fabrication, new harness/custom harness', a new computer system(TCM,PCM,ECM CNBS and ABC...etc,) and/or awesome tuner and other random parts ....in short its spending more time and money then the cars value.

Good luck. Not a single person has completed a OEM style auto-manual swap in these cars. The only people who have taken an auto cobalt and turned it into a stick gutted the car completely and replaced everything (For dedicated drag cars). As said above, there are simply way too many things in these cars that are electronically driven for such a swap to work. The car will give you electrical system fits as it expects inputs from the 4T45E, but ends up not recieving them. You'll end up with a car that is stuck in a limp mode and undriveable, provided it even starts.

It's' not physically impossible, its just an electrical nightmare. If you bought a donor car and gutted both cars, it may be possible, but you'd easily spend more than your car is worth by doing such a swap.

You'd easily be upside down by 6-8 Grand (I'm lowballing too) if you did a swap.

Pretty much, I'm just going to suggest that you get a B&M Shift Plus. It'll let you get more response out of the 4T45E. The 4T45E is capable of a good amount of boost without needing modified.

give uup and get a manual car. as much as you spend trying to switch your car to manual you can spend that money on a SS car or a SC kit or a Turbo Kit. save the headache.

the speak the truth dont even think about it any more. a B&M shift plus lets it hit hard like a manual. plus again there right the auto hold more power. and if you go turbo it cuts out the turbo lag

Honestly be happy with what you got till your in a position to upgrade.

If you are, then do just that; UPGRADE. Don't get the same car / diff tranny.
