Automatic to manual swap

Ive been looking everywhere to find somone who has done a successful complete automatic to manual swap. I was wondering if it was possible to do one, and is it worth the cost?

I have a How-to on it...

Step 1: Sell automatic Cobalt.

Step 2: Buy manual Cobalt.

Job done.

Seriously, its not worth the time/money.

Thanks for all the input. I heard that its not usually done because of the cost. And i don't really think it is either. I was just trying to see if anyone had done it succesfully with minimal problems. And another thing is that many of the manual cobalts around me that are for sale (used because im not going to by it new) are a P.O.S. They are usually really beat up with a lot of miles on them. That is why i was into going this route.

but they are cheap. Rebuild the engine how you want it then, still cheaper than a auto to manual swap

^^^^ this

find a manual cobalt... rip any mods you have off yours... sell your cobalt private party for 1k more or higher then the manual cobalt for rebuild cash. rebuild... not only do you now have a rebuilt cobalt that is standard... you lost little to no money

Might as well look for a used ss supercharged. It just seems pointless to go from a 2.2 auto to 2.2 stick lol I've been seeing some good deals on older supercharged models. Most of them don't even have the stage kits...so maybe not beat on as much. My 06 2.2 has 100k on it and runs like a champ. It is what it is...so if i came up with sum extra cash, i'd look at a ss model fully loaded.

I asked a dealer once how much to replace my auto tranny with a manual since I said it was broke and they literally quoted me at $13000ish dollars.
