BadMad Shorty Header Concerns
Was thinking about getting one of these for my 2.2L. Heard great things looking at other threads. Anybody have these for a non SC/TC though and like it?
Also, does it bolt to a stock downpipe? thanks

I had one on my 2.2 for years.. worked great! Bolts right up to stock dp I recommend at least getting a stock ss/sc dp though or you won't see much gain. Oh and FYI they won't fit an SS/TC

Yes, it will bolt up to your stock downpipe, but it is pointless due to the size of your stock downpipe. The badmab header has a 3" collector, and for best flow you will want to match it up with an aftermarket downpipe. Since youre a 2.2L, find a used stock LSJ downpipe if you are trying to keep cost down. That will be better than bolting the header to your actual stock downpipe.

You mean SS/SC.

Thats what I was talking to my bro about last night. The header wont really make a difference with a small downpipe. Are the LSJ downpipes the same size (length-wise and bolt pattern wise) as the LS? Also, if I upgraded the downpipe, He said a high-flow cat-converter would be A1, but I wouldnt pass emissions here in WI???
The LSJ's stock downpipe already comes with a high flow cat, and will be an improvement over your stock downpipe.

It will be a pain in the ass. The automatic engine on the cobalt sits farther up so the downpipe from an LSJ doesn't fit as well. I have an LSJ DP on my 2.2 auto but it was a pain to get on and it has a small exhaust leak.
