Depending on the model (the speed aside) you're looking either 150 or 165 horsepower. Here's a few specs I pulled off Mazda's site:

GX/GS
--------
150hp @ 6500
128lb-ft @ 4500

GT
---
160hp @ 6500
150lb-ft @ 4500

I was looking up specs and well they come with 2 engine options a 2.0 or a 2.3 The 2.0 has 145HP and the 2.3 has 160HP. Also according to the 1/4 mile times a mazda 3 with a 2.3L engine would be about .15 seconds faster. So in this case its gonna be a really close race. However if it had the 2.0L we could prolly beat it

I've ran against my friends and got probably 3/4 car, stock. (not saying 3-4 cars, i mean .75 of a car) 2.2 auto here.

With your mods, you'll be more than fine.

I call BS.

I've raced a 2.3L 5 Speed in my Malibu and I could hardly keep up with the thing.

They run low 15's stock.

An Auto Cobalt would get trashed.

Not necessarily BS. His auto won't screw up any shifts. Someone driving a stick can.

correction they run 16.05 stock the 2.2 cobalt runs 16.2 stock so its damn close and would come down to the driver if both cars are stock

that sounds a little closer to right. although, i dunno if .15 is all that close. that can be a sizeable lead in a 1/4

yeah if you've got a 75shot of nitrous you shouldn't be concerned about any cars slower than a 14.9
