Best full exhaust combo?

Guys please i have been on this for 4hours today and if i didnt shave my head yesterday i would of pulled my hair out by now.

What (in tarnation! lmao) is the best exhaust setup for a 2.2l strickly in terms of performance. I mean... there are so many choices so ill narrow it down in terms of diameters for simplicity's sake.

All i ever plan on going is n2o, nothing more. What would you guys recommend for a downpipe and cat-back diameter? I guess the best thing would be for them to be the same. Does the GMPP exhaust only come in 2.25"? And what about the stock 2.2 downpipe? and the lsj one? Anyone know this info or where i can get it please.... all i wanna do is change my exhaust

okay, the header/DP is going to make much more of an impact than the cat back.

i would say that 2.25 piping is ideal for a 2.2, but MAYBE a 2.5 if you're going to be running a 1/4 with n20.

that said, i personally feel it's going to come down to what you want to do.

a shorty header will give you the most stock like driving. generally, on a 4 banger, the longer the primary tubes, the more power but the higher into the RPM band that goes. (actually, a mid tube 4-2-1 would be kind of cool...)

CA, ZZP, OBX and a few others make nice short headers.

the DP... the ZZP, CA, and random technologies are probably the best out there.

ZZP makes a nice combo unit that's a mid-tube and DP combo. it's spendy, but would prolly kick butt on a n20 2.2

as far as the cat back... honestly, i'd grab the stock one off of a 2.4 or SS/SC for next to nothing and rock it out, hell, you could probably get the whole exhaust from the block back for like $150 second hand... it would be an improvement and be dirt cheap, but that's just what i would do if i had a 2.2

2.5 till the axle then it drops to 2.25

and aside from that joe is right on... personally i'm looking at the zzp combo for my 2.4.

2.5in for supercharger unless you plan on running 300+HP or just want all your power in the high RPMs

Best thing for a 2.2 full header back exhaust IMO is as follows, ZZP 2.5 header/dp/HF cat (magnaflow) available from zzperformance.com for $450 THEN try to get custom pipes from the HF cat back 2.5" and get a (2.5" inlet/ 2.5" or bigger outlet) muffler. Strictly from that you will be looking at 20-25whp and spending around $700. If you even care about intake go with a K&N Typhoon or Injen. These options are strictly for best hp gains.

thanks, sounds good to me. but is there any 2.5inch catback exhaust on the market besides the pacesetter one? i rather just buy one cuz i want a bolt-on system

by the way i got a black g5 as well....but base model, still love her

the Corsa one is 2.5" but its a bit expensive. like I said you could go to a muffler shop or something similar and have them route custom 2.5" piping from catback and drop a muffler on there for a much better price than bolt on out of box.

ya it looks good, its a 4-2-1 header, but man its 700$...with the corsa exhaust my system would be 1500$!!! worth it??? i wonder, when u can get a shorty header, dp, and gmpp exhaust for less than 1000$...

i would like to know if a midlenght header is worth it for a 2.2l or if it will just be better for performance to get a short header and dp....anyone know exhaust systems well?
