alright buying 2.25" exhaust for christmas and deciding which muffler to use for sound. i want it pretty much to sound stock but louder and maybe a little more rasp (less like a vacuum cleaner lol)

so which one:
borla 5x8 oval muffler
magnaflow round 6 inch
vibrant round 6 inch

thanx

i had the same exhaust but 2.5in on my old balt. had the magnaflow muffler. Sounded pretty good, a lil raspy top end. If i was to get that exhaust again i would go with the borla muffler

Thanks, its just the muffler and 3 inch exhaust tip, I was gonna do a full exhaust but figured it was pointless on a 2.2.

The only reason some flowmasters sound like **** on are cars is because people put the wrong type of flowmaster on it. The flowmaster website describes the type of vehicles there mufflers should be put on.

Blackarca, I ve got manifold back SS exhaust, and have been looking for a decent muffler to weld on to replace the stock one, is this your setup, or do you have stock 2.2 exhaust with the flowmaster?

I have the stock 2.2 exhaust, it may sound different with your setup, might be deeper. This muffler just has a deep tone to it. You can really only hear it when I get on it, or 3K or higher.
