i had a 97 corolla with a magnaflow muffler before my balt. it had a deep low tone when crusing around and idle but had that nice popin and rasp when you floor it. not like a fart can honda id go with that if your gonna chose between those for a " quiet but loud" set up. my muffler now is loud and sounds beast too so you dont want jdm n1 lol. well. not 6 in with 4 in tip

just go to your local hardware/exhaust parts/do it best store and pick up a generic brand turbo muffler.. i have a cherry bomb turbo muffler on mine right now.. it sounds slightly louder than stock and only cost $20.. when i got mine i was looking to get rid of the massive stock muffler we all hate and it fit the ticket perfectly.. thrush turbo mufflers would also work well.. no use in spending big bucks on just a muffler

Lol! if it sounds like those old vids you had posted then that dosnt sound bad at all. The 2.2 cobalt I heard had its muffler cut off and a pipe/tip welded on. It was raspy as *ell.

I have pondered getting a Spintech muffler for myself.
The video here is on a 2.2, and yes, I understand that it is an S-10 and not a Cobalt.
I think he removed his resonator and that the rasp would be 100% removed from the higher revs.
I like the sound of them as they sound more 'aggressive', but not loud.
The one I want is below:
Mufflers - Street Mufflers - Sportsman SplitCase 300SC Series - Sportman SplitCase 311SC 2" inlet 2" dual outlet - SpinTech Performance Mufflers
I am looking to make it a faux dually like I did on my wife's Sunfire.
Her car sounds amazing, is not loud and annoying, and it is a stock muffler off a Trans Am used to get her sound.
Unfortunately, the a video of a Cobalt standing still and revving is eluding me.
The Spintech seems to give a more V-8 sound or even the 2.8 Fiero V-6 sound than most mufflers is why I like them, but that of course is my opinion.
I admit the Flowmaster 60 sounds nice, but it does sound like it is a tamed motor.
First video is an SS doing a drive by with a Spintech.
Side note on the Cavalier video, it is a 2.2 OHV and not the Eco...

The best example of how good these sound on an Ecotec was from a guy with an SS model and had the Spintech Sportsman Splitcase 311SC muffler on.

There are other 4 bangers below with Spintechs, but not of the Cobalt.
