Bunch of retarded questions..
but im curious and want answers...
1) if i were to get a trifica tune what kind of gains would i expect mpg/hp wise with minimal mods?
2) how can people claim higher mpg with a catback exhaust with better "flow", but then when i had to run mufflerless for a week = "greater flow" my ACTUAL REAL WORLD mpg went down?
3) i have a K&N drop in now, does it pay to upgrade to a injen CAI? if it does, why?
Thanks for listening to my stupiditly... bt give me answers naowww!!

well your questions are not dumb. But you will more then likely get about 10-15 hp tourque i say about 12ish if so. Mpg i say maybe 1 if he tunes you leaner for cruise and what not, and catbacks will not affect your car other then make your car louder and wack fuel trims up beleive it or not, so youll prob lose mpg. leave the stocker on there. with a air intake your gains will not be sufficient without a tune. because we are fuel injected so therefor we have O2 sensors that will compensate for the extra air or colder air. i hope i helped.

you can have whoevers tuning you tune for economy by making everything less aggressive.
an exhaust with proper sized tubing will always yield horsepower and the decrease in mpg could just be from you getting on it more to hear it
and an intake is a must on these cars. the humongous pieces of plastic that GM decided to throw on both sides of the intake tract doesnt really help flow at all.

i had an ls manual, and i got about 30-32 stock.i ran 93octane (flamesuit on)and i put on a sssc catback and a flowmaster knockoff and a custom cool air intake and got 35-36 between city and freeway...anyone who has ever ridden with me knows that i drive like its stolen but when i was less aggressive i got 40 frequently on the freeway and a solid 36 in the city

oh, and pulling the funnel thing out from behind the pass fender, that will net you at least 1 mpg because it shrinks down to like 1.75in. i noticed a huge diff in mpg, not necessarily power but definitely sound

my actual mpg was never very far from what my dash said, ever. i would reset it for long freeway trips so i knew what my average freeway was and then i would reset it when i wasnt going to be on the freeway at all, that way i knew what those were separately. to get a legit average between all of your driving, reset it when you fill up and write down the mileage and then run it to completely empty(youv got about 40-65 miles after it reads empty to safely get to a gas station...) and see how close they are. the youl know if its off or not. and yes i reset it and played with it alot to see if it was any kind of accurate. im not going to say all of them are dead on but mine was extremely close.
