i never said **** was reliable.

i did say you will break ****. that's something i and every other tuner and wanna-be has learned. **** with your car and something can and will break. and it's always when you don't want or need **** breaking but the desire for more power is an addiction. just my 2cent, personal experience and the fact that i've witnessed many a broken heart and empty wallet.

well my goal is 200whp. I understand what your saying...I just want to know whats the most reliable route to go supercharge or full bolt on,cams. Iam guessing also the sc route is more cost effective?

this thread went way off topic in a hurry. I too am thinking of going the cammed route. Im just not sure of going stg 1 or 2. I use my car as a DD and don't have a back up, so im leaning towards the stg 1

cam is easier to install, and you can build on it with bolt ons, sc is more expensive to do so cause your verging on max hp for stock internals

yeah but i feel like its all end to a means like waht happens when you get your intake,tb,header,dp,cat back, pulley, cams, manifold, tune. after that what else is their besides porting and polishing. supercharge your throwing it on and then you can add stage kits, even run meth.

you can do adjustable cam gears, higher compression ratio, stroke it, bore it, n2o, lots of things to do

stroking is to change the amount that the piston moves to gain hp, usually you do this by using a diff length rod

octane allows for more timing and grabs a couple extra ponies

if i understand correctly as well, using high octane fuel in a regular unmodded car will do nothin right? and i think someone told me it can be harmful to the engine, correct?

in an unmodded car it's gonna burn a little cleaner. won't do **** for power though but I run 93 in my 05 Vue Redline v-tek powered 3.5l anyway. the higher octane full also you to advance spark ignition in order to creat more power. with the right mods you can get a lot outta your little 2.2l.
