how old are ya?
in about 5-10 years youll look back and thank your parents.
It just means they love you enough to care about your safety, more than buying your love with toys.
just be happy you have a nice new car to drive around maybe down the track youll be able to get somethin really nice, and when you work hard and get it for yourself....it means alot more to you

im 17. i no that my parents love me thats why theyve set such a higher bar of expectation for me over my brother. ive learned a lot about life from my brothers bad experiences that not many other kids in my life in my at my age from their siblings. but its just hard to see other people who have more then i do and could careless about it. dont get me wrong i love my balt but i wish there was more to it. and i no that i shouldnt try to keep up or try to keep up with everyone else in life but its just so hard to do imo

I feel ya man. everyone goes through it.
Especially when your young
but theres 1 thing you can count on in life....
and thats that there will always be someone who has something newer, faster, shinier, and more expensive.
Its a well known social situation called "keeping up with the jones's"
a good way to bring yourself back to reality if your having those "i want" blues....is to realise that theres probably even more people wishing they have what YOU have....
Im turning 28 this year, and this is my FIRST new car.

i understand what you are saying man. its just hard to take when basically none of my friends or people around here like the balt. seriously ive had maybe 5 compliments on the balt in over a year of owning it. and i no that i shouldnt care what others think as long as i like it. but coming from close friends saying its small, its ugly, why red, why a cobalt, shoulda got the ss or why not toyota or honda they not good enough for you. it just gets to you after awhile. so i asked them what kind of car they would get with 15,000 and their answer well sure as hell not a cobalt. but they are import lovers so what should i expect?
if you dont mind me asking why the age of 28 and getting your first car?
maybe down the road later in my life but not now

honestly, i would just be happy that your parents bought you a car when you were 17. i don't think you understand how lucky you are. many people here, me included, had to work their ass of to buy their first car, and had to work even harder to buy their first "new" car.
this is one of the reasons that when i have kids they will be working for what they want. i'm not saying i'm not gonna help, but when you are given something you don't appreciate it anywhere near as much. just be happy that you have a new car. who cares what other people think.

I little bit of spray will get everybody's attention.
Give it some time and let the aftermarket dealers crack that ECU on the 2.2l, then you be able to tune the thing at least.

damn i wish my parent bought me my car, i got my ls wheni was 16, but i had to pay the down and monthly payments, and the insurance, basically anything with the car, all they did was use their credit for me to take it out...but if you wanna feel like ur fast, find some civics, they're usually good self-estime boosters
