car keeps farting.... and it STINKS
I donno whats up with my car but its an 08 LT 5 speed , I had a new muffler welded on about a month ago.... (dont think this is relevant but its the most recent thing Ive done to the car) I think the smell STARTED about 2-3 months ago , only recently has it been everytime I drive..... Yesterday it was warmer and easier to smell ,but everytime I drive I get out and it smells like ass, normally I am uber tweaker paranoid about any odd noise/smell/movement my car makes I watch EVERYTHING . so my frist thot is o im just being retarded and imagining it until my date says why does it smell like ass everytime I get out of your car....... I cant tell if its coming from the engine bay or the exhaust , I smell it in both places really but its only there for a few seconds and while Im running the car. when it turns off the wind seems to blow the smell away pretty quick , thus making it hard to show the mechanics. I am just trying to get an idea of what might be wrong......thanks for the help

lol good to know about the not broken in cat..... thats kinda weird tho. I guess Ill run it through the service bay today and see what they say , just wanted to get an idea because when I go in for service they try to say its all in my head because im paranoid about my car ******* up(used to have a DSM and a 2.5rs subaru and they were my fav cars more than any ferrari but man they had sooooo many problems) anyways on a side note, does anyone know why when I start my car , warm or cold , the rpms stay at about 1000-1200 for about 1-2 minutes and then settle and then when I take off my clutch feels very stiff and I feel friction and usually jerk the car..... granted its allways on the first take off and get gradually easier as the car warms up..... is this normal?

sounds like cold engine coolant for the high RPMs and cold transmission fluid (and thus a cold clutch) for the launches. im pretty sure the RPMs will remain high if the engine is started and the coolant is anywhere below 120*... not positive though, so dont quote me on that

try a cold auto tranny...
the thing makes sooo much less power..and just feels..wrong
to top it off, it takes a LONG time for the 14qts of tranny fluid to reach operating temperature. luckily, it feels much better after the tranny hits around 110*, which only takes 5-10 minutes of driving

I think that is probably going to be your AC. Mine started to smell before, but only for a little bit then it went away.
Next time it heppens turn the AC off and see if it goes away. Might wanna get an air freshener.

no don't do that.
I forgot about the A/C smelling. I fixed that by replacing the cabin air filter behind the glove box.

Maybe in the muffler they welded on???
Correct, the car just does not want to GO until it gets warm, and the torque converter will not engauge until the trans warms up, even if the engine is hot from idiling.
