i wanna go cat-less, what would i need? do i just need to buy a pipe to put in place of the cat? i've read that there is a test pipe? but i've searced and have found no where to get one from...i checked ebay and nothin, doeas anybodyhave a link? or should i just go to a exhaust shop and tell them to make me one? would i throw a CEL? is there a way to not throw a code? b/c my friend w/a mazdaspeed is running turbo-back straight piping to the muffler, and he's not throwing any CELs, he's in russia right now, so i cant ask him how he did it either

You will throw a code. The rear o2 sensor will recognize the change. You wont see a cel light right away. It will take probably like 3 start ups.
Also if you want to be cheap you could just get a pry bar and knock the cat out. It will take you like 5 minutes after you get the downpipe off the car.

I highly doubt your going to see that much difference just without a cat on the car without tuning it also, the majority of the power coming from going catless is the ability to up the timing thus more power, atleast thats the case on the 2.0L

The reason the Camaros and Trans Ams can get away with it is because they have enough air moving out of the exhuast that it doesn't sound raspy. They have the power!
On a car like ours... a gutted cat WILL throw an emissions code for the rear 02 sensor. and it WILL sound like complete crap. If you want to gut it, just buy a High Flow cat... they are like $70-80
