My guess is that your filter is clogged, and not feeding enough air to the system. And not just by getting it wet...but by the road debris etc that would stick because of it. You might want to pull it, give it a thorough cleaning and try again.
Just my $.02

Dry it out thoroughly, clean it according to Weapon R's guidelines and try again.
And unless you want to continue doing this every time it rains, I'd either back it up under the wheel well some or fabricate a shield to deflect the rain.

I have a 2.2 auto as well and I'm still debating whether or not to install an intake. IF I do, I'll likely go with the Injen set up as an SRI. Less headaches overall, IMO.

CEL Code from Auto Zone : Was *dun dun nu na sounds or w/e*
P0171 1 of 2
P0171 2 of 2
The PCM has determined that during testing
the fuel system for bank 1 was too lean,
( Bank 1 IDs the location of Cylinder #1,
While Bank 2 Identifies the Cylinders on the opposite bank)

bc the filter isnt wet any more and i put it back to a SRI until i can shorten the CAI bc its too close to the bumper which is going to lead to wet ness i need to fix something that is going to feed the air straight to the filter without lettin water to it..
I was drivnin on the Highway and my Coolant was at 186 , but i hit the offramp to come home, and while i was sittin at the light it climb all the way to 213

Yea I have no idea of what to do either...Someone responded that I could pull the positive from the battery for about 20 minutes and then connect it back, but I highly doubt that this would work..What else is ther to do? Any help...Anybody...???

get an air bypass valve for your intake
unhook the neg terminal of your battery, press the brake pedal for 15 sec to get all current out of your system
id guess oil from the filter got on the air flow sensor

I have an Injen installed as a CAI and I have driven in FLOODING DOWNPOURS with no problems at all.
Also. the 2.2L's will get really warm even into the 220's; expect it.
I don't know what kind of filter Weapon R uses but air is never a good idea. Whether it's paper, cotton or the dryflow, compressed air can and will blow holes in the filter even if you can't see them. Place the filter near an air register in the house to aid in drying.
I have heard that there is a difference in the CAI vs SRI as below:
CAI: More Power Overall and toward the upper end with delayed response on the bottom end
SRI: Better Throttle Response with lower power gains but much earlier in RPM's.
I have the CAI and I do know that the delayed throttle response keeps me from spinning my tires as easily and lets me get traction and as the revs increase the power really comes on strong. I like playing catch-up.
The local parts store can erase the CEL's also.

Sounds like the exact same problem that I had. It turned out to bee the mass airflow sensor. The Sensor still performed like it should, but the PCM still read a problem. Replace the Airflow sensor. thats the only action that remedied the problem for me.

If the light is still on, go to Autozone, (or any equivalent auto parts store that rents out tools) and rent a code reader. Find out what the CEL is on for. It could be something totally unrelated.

I have a K&N and since has that plastic sheiding under that car which does a good job of protecting the filter. I mean with a CAI ud have to submerse it to get it wet. but i am no expert my any means.
