changed my exhaust AGAIN..clips in morning!
well i made the plunge again...i'm known around town for always changing my exhaust. on my old cobalt i had 3 diff setups, and on my focus i had 3 setups as well.i can never find the perfect sound i'm looking for. i had a regular canister style muffler on my most recent setup on my cobalt(you can find the thread w/clips) sounded nice after warmed up, but sounded HORRIBLE when cold..like seriously..had this really high HIGH pitched ricey fart sound at the top of revs...ugh. and echoes...oh my god. it would echo off of everything. hard to explain.
well anyways, was just browsing through pep boys, just for fun, and came across a magnaflow muffler! 2.5 inch inlet/outlet oval style, not canister. 71 bucks tax included. i figured hell, why not?
i' was never a fan of magnaflow...maybe its just the clips on their website. but it sounds great on my car. sounds best when at wot. nice and growly at lower rpms. its just a straight forward 2.25 crush bent(ew ) exhaust, i know i probably lost some hp for those bends..it probably might as well be 2'' exhaust lol...but i know its better than stock. no resonator. so its pretty much the magnaflow system -resonator. it is loud as hell(in a good way) from the outside of the car, but only when the backside is facing you.
tomorrow i will get a launch vid or something like on magnaflows website. after a while i might save up and get the pacesetter catback just for the mandrel bends.. and use my magnaflow muffler..unless someone makes piping kits for our cars? at least change the pipe from the muffler to the tip, becausse the muffler is 2.5, that pipe is 2.25, and i have some concerns on the pipe of the muffler going OVER the pipe to the tip...might cause some unwanted pressure or something.

ok clips here! and just so you know, it didnt get rid of the crappy rice sound early in the morning when it hasnt been driven..lol.
heres from outside of car/launch. i didnt edit it so you can hear me 1/8th of a mile a way and you can see how loud it is, plus my rumbling/"backfiring" listen closely.
then heres 2 birds with one stone....in car(with windows down) + 0-60

i know it sounds like i'm hitting the limiter but i'm actually not just close..it just sounds like it. and yeah i've only been driving 5speeds for a total of like...4-5 weeks so i'm still learning..
and it is catback, unless you mean downpipe too:P
