Lightbulb Check Engine Light On After 50 Miles of Installing a GM Cold Air Kit

My Check Engine Light came on After 50 Miles of Installing a GM Cold Air Kit? I really do not want to go to the dealer. The MAF is well seated and was not damaged during installation. Please let me know the best way to try and reset the computer and where it is located?

Thanks very much!!!

Yes unhooking your battery clears all codes, he is correct. That doesnt mean however that it wont come back on after a bit though..

The only dumb question is the one that is not asked!

I have 3 race cars and the batteries are all trunk mounted in a case. This is too funny. I guess there is a first time for everything LOL. I would never bring it back to the dealer, I am at work and though I would ask. My manual is at home. Sorry for offending anyone!!!

if you back to the dealer they wont tel you nothin, its a Gm part, and Gm made it for the car, should be no problem, but first try to reset the light...and to make sure, b4 u do that, go to a autozone and have them connect the code reader to it, it should be the p0171 code if its intake related, maybe something else went wrong...cold of been a coinsidence, but u shoudl def. find out what the code is 1st b4 deleting
