check engine lite... need inspected n emissions
i have a CEL and cant get it to go away or figure out what it is. i hooked up to OBD-II scanner at advanced auto n it didnt come up with any codes. now i cant get my inspection or emissions. any ideas of how to help?!?!?!?????

no code came up? see if someone local has a code reader. mine works perfectly in the cobalt and was 100 dollars. got it from sears hardware.
for a temp fix, try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery. it should go away for a little while at least. test it out, see if it comes back. if it does come back, keep notes on how long it takes to come back. then if you have to do it in the lot as you pull up or something.

ive disconnected battery. normally comes back within 10 minutes max 15. i was told that the dealer would charge just to scan the code but i will call n ask tomorrow. i put up the price for the bumper d4u2sot

the dealer does it free, as long as u go with it being warranty thing, just go in, my check engine light is on, i dont know why, i did that they looked at it, said my old intake caused, it, they cleared it, and i was on my way, free of charge
ps-they do logg it, they get the paperwork and **** done, so it will go on record, best way it to know someone at the dealer so they can hook it up and look at it

well i know one guy that works at the place. i am going to call and ask him tomorrow if he has any idea and my car is still under warranty so hopefully its free

alright boys.... got another question now. got the code fixed and all good. so emissions is done and im awaiting parts to pass inspection but...
what the **** is up with the technician tellin me i have to drive 100 ****** miles before i can put my car back on the emission testing machine thing???
i mean i know of a drive cycle but i thot it was a lot less miles than that... any help??? area, u know?
