Well, first off, i like your creativeness in trying out your own products and mixing and matching things. Second, well no offense, it looks kinda cheesy, i think you coulda spent another 100$ or so and got the actual intake made for your car, woulda looked a little better IMO. But overall i give it a cause i dont have an intake yet and you do.

Non Taken - It serves two purposes.. One it gets the airbox out of the way because on friday i have to go test fit the ingalls dampner (im the 2.2 test guy) 300.00 for the dampner is all free to me so i had to make an intake to get the stock box out of the way. And the car really need an intake. I happen to like SRI and like what i have done with what i had to work with.. And with the AEM most people have thrown a CEL I have had it in for 4 days and yet to get a CEL. The other intake is 275.00

I also did a Short shift for 3 bucks in gas and a shorty antenna for free.

My buddy is in my mind a magician (sp?) with the cobalt and all other cars. He knows his **** and i trust him. This all works as well as anything you could spend way more money on... I want GO not SHOW. I could care less what anything looks like as long as it takes time off the 1/4 mile. I ran a 17.3 Bone Stock at the track. We will see what happens next month with MODS. When i have the money to put in a CIA i will but till then Ill run mine

Ya, I would have to say the same, but also, being down there like that, you'll be sucking in alot warmer air than an Injen...

also i left half of the old air intake in the fender so cold air does get shot into the engine bay from that pipe and if you look you can see the asfault under the intake its down there quite a bit. Im not defending my job at all. I did what i could to make the car breath better and this week ill be getting the dampner and a magnaflow.

i agree with carlyle...except for calling your work crap.....you will throw a cel soon(or should anyways) because i put a breather filter on my 2.2 instead of a vaccum line and threw a cel quick.....had to reset my comp to get it to go away.....the pcm reads the vaccum in the valve area and will throw a code if it is not there......just my 2cents

Yea man 17.3 is understandable if you had a horrible launch I ran as high as a 17.5 with a crappy launch when traction control kicks in, what was you reaction time and or 60ft times, becuse that makes a big diff. I've ran a best 16.7 at 81mph and I weigh 285lb,lol. If you want an easy way to lower your ET just take out the passenger seat its 2 bolts and you just unclip the airbag sensor and take out your spare, jack, and trunk material. It helps if your car is stock. Oh and take out the air filter while your at the track only it makes a huge difference, I cut a half second of my ET after I did that. and DEFINATELY no more than a 1/4 tank of gas.

I had 3/4 of a tank of gas and took the spare tire out. Everything else was bone stock (wheels and tires are the ones i have now) This was only the second time down the 1/4 mile in over 9 years. Let me get to the track again i am sure i can break the mid 16's especially with the SRI and Exaust (put on the magnaflow today)

i personaly love his intake. I'll take a pic of mine when i get a chance it looks way worse. I got the lower intake duct out of a 89 Saab 900 Turbo and it works great. I got a code but i belive it's because i missed that little thing on the throtle body that hes got a vacum line hooked too.

i think it looks nice
where did you buy the parts?
is the filter a generic cone filter, or is a $50 filter?

so did the ingalls work on the 2.2? how hard was it to fit? this could be valuable information to the 2.2 owners

Could you not fit the filter over by where the stock airbox was located, like the Injen?

Also, what were the part numbers of the piping you used, if you dont have those, at least the description of each pipe piece, thanks alot man...

how come you decided to go that way with the piping?
i assume its because you were limited to a certain degree of bends with the pipe
if you could get it to the stock location, it would be sweet. Or even move the stock air piping to the other side, because it feeds in cold air
