looking at the money spent on head work, top end parts, plus cams
it doesn't warrant the money spent for the actual power gained.
me personally, I have a 2.2 aswell and for the money spent would rather put it towards a supercharger build, it will show more power/value for the money

first off i am a 2.2 cobalt not a LSJ or LNF throwing complaints.
i have nothing against building an N/A engine but for the money the ecotec is not the N/A engine to build.
Building an engine for N/A i would side with the honda K series or B series engines, they will yield more gains for the same money spent.
Our Engines definitely yield more results for Supercharged or Turbocharged applications

I remember when I was young and wanted cams.....
until I realized how much money/work that is needed for the damn thing to yield the similar numbers to an SC build.
Save the cams for a V8 or an LS series V8

I would be very disappointed. With the headwork he did he should have walked the ion. With all the work he did he should have an easy 200hp, it sounded like he was reving to 8000rpm for christ sake. Does the Cobalt have any weight reduction? IK the ION does which is why it probably seems so quick.

theres another member on here 2.2L engine, he has done alot of work including a full top end i believe and he wasnt even at the 200whp mark yet
these engines dont gain the same with head work and cams as other engines do

he did his head himself accept the shaving and te valve match.
he have cammed it but in 2 years it is gonna be boosted.
it is his money and what can i say about that
his rev limiter is set at 7500. because i have flywheel, my acceleration are faster than him
his WR is more advanced than me. this is a 2 places summer car.
my ion was not that WRed. his coby was lighter that my and use 103 octanes gas
even with the head work done you wont be at 200hp maybe at the crank but def not at the wheels.
