there are no rear strut bars. we dont have rear struts.

you can get front and rear sway bar, a front strut bar and a rear tie rod. lol.

if you just want to add some quick performance, go with the intake or a megan exhaust. both will cost you less than 300 and will give you a little performance boost.

just beware that very soon, you will want that 300 to be 3000
I think hes already thinking about it

Lightbulb

I tinted my car windows myself, it was like $30 worth of tint material and a crapload of patience, I did it right the second time so it looks good, did 2.5% on all the windows except the back was 35% *nevada regs*. It's easy as long as you understand it's not easy the first time. (I tinted my windows outside the first time and no I didn't read the directions, so I got the whole tint removing experience too).

Tight budget of $300, you can get a Cold Air Intake, or you can be like me, spend $50, modify the stock airbox yourself and make it a cold air intake, or you can get the exhaust for like they said above, or you can get the 2.4L intake manifold kit from crateenginedepot for like $254. A ricer friend of mine gave me a good piece of advice when I first started a long time ago, he said make your car more efficient at what it does (pulleys, cold air intakes, LED's(yes yes i know there isn't much of a power difference), exhaust systems) and you'll get a lot of horsepower from those upgrades, that way when you start adding in stuff like bigger injectors, and turbos and superchargers and stuff like that, your motor is already doing what it does as good as it can.

But considering some of the cobalts weaker points - drive shafts, clutchs, flywheels, crankshaft, connecting rods, steering head knuckles, you seriously should weigh in the difference between making your car more powerful first and stronger later, or making your car strong enough to handle the power now and then powerful later. It's all up to every owner to decide.

re-tune, cancel SAI, get a vibrant header, megan exhaust, k&n short ram, upgrade those pistons, rings, rods, valvetrain, and slap a turbo or super on that mother

lots of money, yes

but there are tons of options

BUT this car IS meant for economy and if you want 400+ hp you can get a mustang or wait for the 09 camaro.

but if your stuck with a cobalt, or maybe theres just something about the cobalt that you like (my situation) then save your 300, get some more, get another job if you have to and you can reach 400 hp. dont forget brakes though. and springs and torque dampener, sway bars, and mounts.

these cars can be really fun to drive with the right amount of money.

even then, if you think about it, maybe for all this stuff you'll spend a total of $25k for a fast, fun, reliable car.

might want to beef up the unibody (maybe a roll cage) if you want to have some life insurance i doubt these cobalts are very strong in accidents

yes i will admit that the intake, exhaust and shiftplus mods that i made so far have made things a lot more fun. BUT in all seriousness, improving the ride quality is the smarter way to go. strut and sway bars, and lowering springs are ur best bet.

300 bucks for all 4 or 5...6 maybe? (trans + engine)
