I have a ?
I've heard that the 2.4L auto's don't free rev to the shift rev limit; I heard that they have a lower free rev limit when in Neutral or Park. Does this apply to cowboy's 2.2L as well?? I have 2.2L 5-spd.
My initial intentions were to build a N/A Sleeper car; not to be the quickest or fastest car around, just something a lot quicker than anyone would expect. I thought I wanted to go the deep, mellow, not too loud route. I started listening to sound clips, and listening to 2.0 clips I really like the roar of the 2.0 Sport system and it's a whole lot louder than this 2.2L Sport. I'm not sure which is louder the 2.0 Touring or the 2.2 Sport. After getting my Injen CAI, I would like something that's noticeable but only mellow until WOT. I want my exhaust to ROAR at WOT like the intake.

this has already been discussed......and to answer your ?s.....all automatic balts, regardless of engine....have the freerev limiter....and secondly....the touring exhaust is quieter than the sport.....

Well then, that would explain why his car sounds like it's not reving out when he's free-reving; I didn't know it was an auto. I know that Sport is louder than touring but my point is that the Touring on a 2.0 seems to be even louder than the Sport on the 2.2?? Now do you get what I am saying?? There are 6 systems 2 for each engine and on each engine the Touring is quieter than the Sport but I am comparing two different systems from 2 different engines!!

ok....right on.....im gonna assume that the touring on the 2.0 would be louder than the sport on the 2.2 due to the forced inducton on the 2.0......my theory behind this would be that because there is significantly more airflow in the 2.0 that the exhaust would be significantly louder

think about it...a catback isnt going to give much gains at all because the stock pipe from header to the cat is still small, so its like a bottleneck effect, until its completely opened up you will see minimal gains, full header and 2.25 or 2.5" exhaust will give the best gains because its the most free flowing

In response to my other comment: I was just making a comment. I like the sound of the Sport on the 2.0 and would like something close to that on my 2.2L but it seems that even the touring on the 2.0 is still louder than the sport on the 2.2L. That's all I was saying; I wish it were louder. How hard was that to comprehend??!! You gotta compare what you want with what you can get. Apparently I'll not be able to get what I want!!

Well I just ordered my Corsa Touring for my 2006 SS/SC with GM Stage 2, 2.9 pulley. I'll let you folks know what I think and if I do get a nice kick in the ass from it! :-)
Also let me know if anybody want a sound clip from it. I'll see what I can do to get it and upload.

I'm not new, I just don't post. I search everything (being a smart ass).
No, but seriously, I was just checking to see if you knew you posted in a thread this old.
One more thing, please do a sound clip. I have always wondered how it sounds.

It's cool man...that's how I came across this thread is by searching and help from others on searching for things. (Based on Join Date and Member number you are still relatively new) :-)
