Couple of questions
I hate cars stock.
So, I'm looking at a cold air intake setup here shortly.
Is the K&N setup worth it? I really like K&N filters (I have two in my Camaro, one in my dad's E-150, and one in my mom's Pacifica).
It's pricy, but it looks like it fits really well.
Any comments?
Also, I've heard about throwing a 2.4L intake on the 2.2L. How well does that work?
Thanks.

just make sure to use a dry unoiled filter. K&N or any oiled filters(for intakes) have been know to throw codes(check engine light). Save yourself some trouble and use a dry filter.

also, you'll wanna put on a header or the LSJ manifold and a good 2.5" exhaust. dont wanna put all that air into the engine and not be able to get it out fast enough

I've never had a problem using oiled filters. Never thrown a code in any car I've used it in.
The problems really come from when you "recharge" the filter and use too much oil, and you don't have to recharge until about 50,000 miles.
Yeah, I don't have fogs at all.
So, 2.4L intakes...no place that sells new ones, I assume?

Dude i have to say something here. Look at an Aem cold air intake. Its about 300 bucks, look at an intake you will find on ebay for about 50-60 bucks. Same material, same bends, same ****. Its a pipe with a filter. Your paying for the name brand, when u could save urself about 250 bucks. I myself have an Aem, but in retrospect i would have much rather just bought an ebay cold air intake.

Everyone's right about the jdm intake. But if you are oging with a name brand, just make sure that the maf sensor sits the same distance from the throttle body as it did on the stock intake. To far or to close with throw the cel. I had a fujita cai and it did have a decent hp gain, but the maf sat further away from the TB. Later I sold it, got a K&N and no cel ever. Plus I felt I had more hp gain vs. the fujita. Plus the K&N has a heat shield and is on ebay new for $217 shipped last time I checked. Do a search just on the model # of the intake b/c the seller didnt put cobalt in the item desc.
BTW I always recommend an AEM dryflow filter. Cleaing & drying only takes 10-15 min tops.

and how much did that cost you? i'd never pay that much for an SRI, or any intake for that matter. its plastic (or metal) tubing. why pay that much for it? yeah yeah dyno tested blah blah blah. I'm willing to bet the jdm intake provides the same gain as injen or k&n.

So, I'm seeing a few different things here.
First question that I really want an answer to is this.
Will a cold air intake (whether it be short-ram or full cold air intake) "designed" for a 2.2L work with the 2.4L?
Next.
I'm seeing that my two best options appear to be the Injen or the JDM CAI, is that correct?
