Custom 2.2L Intake & Strut Bar
Whats up guys. I dont normally start threads but Im excited about my most recent mods on my 2.2L. I had a advancejdm CAI but I took it off and put it on my wifes 2.4. So I made a custom intake to replace it. I also made a strut bar for my car. I used the rear bar from my 01 Pontiac Grand AM. Tell me what you think. Please excuse the dirty engine bay. I havent detailed it in a few weeks.
I made the intake using a 98-02 OHV Cavalier intake, a stock MAF mount cutout from a stock airbox, a clamp, filter, and TB elbow. Total cost was probably under $50.
I also made the spark plug cover. i invented it
the strut bar isnt completely done yet but it fits!
thanx 4 looking

Lol why does everyone think this is a CAI? Its only a high flow system..its still sucking up hot air. You shouldve ran it into the fender well if you wanted cold air.

sorry buddy. fight that ticket! lets end the vicious cycle of bad karma right now lol. the reason i made a short ram intake on this car is because its a base model 2.2 auto. even if i put a CAI on it it'd be just as slow lol

That breather on the head is not good to have.
It serves to suck out all the oil vapor out of the head and have it sucked via the intake.
Without the vacuum from the intake, the head is not getting rid of the oil vapor anywhere near where it should.
It will damage the head over time in other words.

^I agree. People do it because they dont want to get any oil in their intake. But I think its worth getting a tiny bit of oil in the intake if it helps keep your engine running properly.
