DC sports header

Anyone know of or actually have this header? I have heard that the new CA header is not going to work for the 2.2 because the collector is too large, causing the powerband to shift way high. But this header seems to have a smaller collector, any info???

Personally I hate ceramic coated Mild steel headers
Save your $$$ and get a real stainless steel header that will last or spend double the $$$ to have the rusted header removed and replaced 2 years later

I've heard that they'll work great for the 2.0 and 2.4's but not the 2.2's becuase the collector is way to big

I Have A Dc Sports Header .. Had It For Almost 2yrs No Problems With It & No Rust I Also Have It On My 05 2.2 I Like It

Did you notice the gains right away? And how is the fitment?

Yea I Noticed Some Gain And Its Fits Fine Pleanty Of Room ... I Had The C/a Header First And Had To Send It Back Cause It Wouldnt Fit And They Suggested This On E

I've got some friends they say they don't like the metal used by DC. Their Strut bars apparently break a lot, but I don't know much about it....

i am interested to see what this thread turns up info wise. i am stuck between these two headers acctuually and i really need to find out some more info before i decide on which to buy.....

CA v1 header= 2.25" collector, which isn't too big for a 2.2. Hell, my best friend's Scion xA uses a header w/ a collector that big, and that's a 1.5 liter engine, lol.

The DC Sports header has a 2" collector, which will work just as well.

Just saying that 2.25" isn't too big for a 2.2.

Owell, at least you 2.2 guys are sensible. There's a bunch of 2.4 guys running headers w/ 3" collectors, lol. Ovvvverkillllll!!!!

not really overkill but it does shift your band.. my zzp combo seems to have given me some nice gains but i can't tell till i hit the dyno.. i get some strnog pull from 3K on and my tires will randomly break loose.

but no 2.25 it's too much for 2.2s however i dont know what the new size collector is for the CA. 2.2s are god for up to 2.5 but anything above that it's going to really affect your scavenging and such

Well .3 inches doesn't seem like it's too much. I dont know i cant make up my mind

Well my roomates '06 325whp STI uses 3" exhaust components, so I'm pretty sure my 2.4SS dosent need anything bigger than 2.5". A 3" collector on our car might help out the super high part of your powerband, but a header like the CA v1 header will give you a nice, even powerband with gains throughout the entire band.
