Do the gm stage2 injectors fit or not?
Ok as the title states, will the gm stg 2 injectors work in a 2.2l, i have a turbocharged 05 2.2, the car starts and runs fine with the stock injectors and stock tune, but i installed the gm stg 2's, the cavalier injector harness and loaded my trifecta tune and now the idle is all over the place, like it's hunting for base idle. Compared with my stockers the stage2's are a tad bit shorter but i am pretty sure they are sealing and not causeing a vaccum leak, i am not sure if the spray is making it into the cylinder or if it is backing up into the intake. Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with this, i think sentry had an issue, hoping he will chime in...

Yes, but mine is pretty extreme, lol... I've only had it running a few times and have not attempted to drive it yet, i have not pulled codes or nothing else yet, i was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

well if the trifecta tune is for the stock injectors than thats the problem right there...unless the tune was for stage 2 injectors...but if it wasnt then its def the stage 2 injectors not being properly tuned into ur setup

trifecta tune IS for the stg 2 injectors, but vince doesn't seem to think it's the tune.

That's what i was thinking, i had the car running yesterday on the stock tune with the stock injectors and it runs normal. The only thing i changed was the injectors, i used the cavalier ecotec harness so it's plug and play, and loaded the tune and now this. I pulled the injectors back out and made sure the o-rings were sealing, so i don't know, i'm taking a tech 2 from work and will see what the data looks like tonight. Vince said it was way lean which would indicate a vacuum leak. So i don't know...

My issue was that the fuel rail wasn't fitting far enough down and the injectors were not sealing off and it was dumping fuel everywhere. Even if the O rings are good, it still should be very tight against the head. Are you having any issues with fuel leaking out?
With it being lean it could either be a vacuum leak or the fuel is dumping all over the place, but I guess you would have noticed that.

im running the gm stgII injectors on my stock tune, and the car idles fine, rev's fine, no leaking gas, no vacuum leak, maybe the tune, might wanna have vince look @it, i know once i upload the tune later today, if something doesnt work, the tune did it, bc if it turned on before the tune, and doesnt after... anyway im just bored, waiting for utsadude to show up so he can t00n my car...but yeah those injectors work fine for me...

See, wish i would of tried the injectors before i loaded the tune, i need to flash it back to stock and see what happens. I have no fuel leaks and outside of idle, the car runs excellent. I also think the cavi harness has the pos, neg sides on the injectors reversed, , but they are all in the right place,could that affect anything?

If you had a wiring problem the thing would run horribly if at all. Where's your maf?

My maf is about 6 inches from the TB, and it's good. I think you might be right about the turbulence though. Mine acts a little crazy when you first start it, and I think it's because of the 180* turn from the IC to a 90* angle upwards, then to a 3" MAF, lol.

whats your boost gauge reading at idle? if you have a vacuum leak that could do it as well mine is as far away from the TB as it was stock.. since i used an intake and just rotated it lol

Well, i'm not sure right now, i actually removed, cleaned and resealed the injectors, intake and throttle body, i also replaced the crappy coupler between the throttle body and the air intake pipe. Now the car does not surge but it idles at 1200 rpms, it also smeels really rich. I'm thinkintg it may be fixed but vince has been tuning around a lean condition, now it's overly rich.
It sound like it will have an occasional misfire at idle. It will be humming along, then it will go buh, buh, sounds like the occasional missfire. But it revs fine and when i 'm out driving it fells solid as can be. So i don't know. I have not pulled codes or looked at the misfire graph. I also need to pull the plugs and check them,.,

I know when I had idle surge like that I had a vaccuum leak and a dirty TB. Was misfiring like crazy in all cylinders and threw codes cause of it.
Sounds like that's not the route of your prob. I'd get the new tune and throw new plugs in see what it can't do. Your idle rev is controlled by the engine coolant temp, so depending how it's tuned in that table and how hot you're letting it get it will idle higher.

did you ever get this issue resolved? i'm having the EXACT same issues with the GM 42s...
I had the issue resolved for a short period of time (replaced o-rings on "caps" that go on end of injectors) but had to pull the injectors and haven't gotten it to work right since. Seems to me like the L61 needs a longer injector (like the 60s) for them to install correctly. Injector installs shouldn't cause this many problems IMO.
btw, have the part # for that cavalier injector harness?
