ok i have two down pipes, a stock one and an ss\sc one. i was thinking of gutting one of them.. which do you think would make more power, gutting the larger ss\sc pipe or the smaller stock one?

You will get very minimal gains from gutting it. Not worth it at all IMHO.

i have the ss\sc one installed and it made a good bit of difference, but a good friend woh worked at a tunner shop for a few years keeps telling me to take the cat out that its the only way to make power... and yes i know it will sound like **** if i do.

I wouldnt trust a tuner shop that says catless is the only way to make power. Not only is that incorrect, its also irresponsible and illegal.

No joke, I used to work in a salvage yard and my boss got paid $80-100 for those.

Most places will give you like 40-50 for that cat, but you gotta keep it intact.
