Downstream O2 Sensor

Hey guys I used the search function and I couldnt find it, I scoured google and couldnt find it either... but my car right now sounds like its got a boxer engine, low power, sluggish etc... I thought it could have been a plug fixed that, still bad, cleaned injectors, still not, replaced coils, still... my stupid A$# didnt check the codes first turns out its bank 1 pos 2 downstream o2 sensor, so I got up under my car and noticed where the sensor is at the wires are frayed.. so now im planning on replacing it sadly most of my tools, jacks, etc. Are back in NM and im up in Texas with my GF so I got the tools to remove it and a crappy manual jack.. my question is because I really dont want to be under the car for long is where exactly is the connecter located at so I can just get under there and do a quick swap.. any help is greatly appreciated.. thanks guys!

Connector can be reached by hand through the engine bay. the sensor itself will be on the flat part of the downpipe before the catback. It is probably rusted in too lol so you are gonna have to yank on it

Don't wrench under your car with just a jack, no matter how quick you will be.

Ok so you are talking about the sensor that furthest away from the engine bay correct? Closest to the muffler? I know where the sensor itself is and its already loosened, I am just trying to figure out exactly where the connector is so I can just unplug it and do a quick swap. Again thanks for your help.. if anyone has pics or could provide pics to where the connector is I would be so greatful!

the connector is gonna be in the bay on the drivers side down a little ways somewhat close to the firewall. It's gonna be a bit of a reach but you can grab it. I don't have pics currently

@ sandman, does that mean if the whole front is jacked up that you could just access it from underneath? Or would you recommend just going from the bay?

On the LNF it's pretty easy to reach from underneath, but it's difficult to see. The connector has a little plastic thing that locks it together and if you can't see it it's kinda hard to figure out how to pull it apart. If you can see it, then it's pretty simple to figure out.

While that may be true, if he's got a code for the sensor and the wires are frayed then there's no reason not to fix it.

It's the cat... Clogged forsure
The frayed wires is a coincidence IMO. Still fix it

But that sensor has no control over the motor and how it runs. All if does is make sure the cat is operating within spec. If the cat is not operating properly, you get the cel

Down pipe may not be the right word.. but an off road "cat". Mind you I have mid length zzp headers and trifecta tune as well.. on top of injin cai are you sure the o2 isnt the problem? I was under the assumption that sense my cat is not really a cat in the sense that theres no filter that it really wont get clogged.. sorry for the ignorance :/..oh and 2.25" head back exhaust. Just adding the upgrades as I remember them

No, the downstream sensor only monitors cat performance. The upstream sensor is used for fuel trims.

most of the codes are for bank2,pos1. One for the clutch petal(someone replacing my clutch took the whole clutch petal out instead of just the linkage) when looking at the codes the first time I totally didn't notice the 2(3?) Codes for the upstream...
