As long as you do it right, itll look good and WONT loose back pressure.. look at the 01+ 2.0L neon's they actually look nice and GAIN power going from stock exhaust to the dual exhaust, and the 2.0L are NA (if someone is curious (granted they are sometimes modded to turbo setup))
But like I said.. if you do it right it can look nice and wont loose power. If I was to do it, id get a SS rear bumper that has dual cutout and have the exhaust run to a muffler and on the output side have it dueled..
This is what is on the Neon R/T's, I actually miss having mine it sounded very nice!
EDIT: C A D88, have you been to the Highway 7 meets in Vaughan ON? I think ive seen your car before..

im putting dual exhaust on my ss/tc this march. already have all the parts and everything. SLP dual outlet. hope it sounds good. all i gotta do is get the flange changed and take my rear lip to a body shop so they can cut out the other side perfectly. i could do it myslef but i want it to look good. lol.

Back Pressure is a old myth. The perfect exhaust system has LITTLE to ZERO back pressure.
People are confusing back pressure with exhaust velocity.
If you lose exhaust velocity you will lose power....end of story....nothing to do with back pressure.
That being said, I have a L61 in my sunfire, its open header (dumps to atmosphere where the cat used it be) and it made (dyno proven, with sheets to prove it) 9whp and 15wtq over my 2 1/4 exhaust with a straight through muffler.
And no, I didn't lose any "low end power" either. It makes more HP/TQ from 2000rpm to redline with the open header.
So please don't try and tell me, or other people on this site, that simply running a dual muffler on your car will lose power because you will lose back pressure.
A closed mouth collects no feet....
....Something some of you should think about before posting sometimes.
Sorry, this is one topic that bugs the hell out of me!!

haha I had this same argument with people over at J-Body.org, I used to run at the track with the exhaust open and got better times. No one would believe me that the open header would make more power, so on the next dyno day I decided to try both so I could prove it.
The people that did believe me argued that I would lose to much low end TQ to make it worth while. Aside from the fact when you drag race you never really use any low end TQ since the RPM's don't drop enough between shifts. As you can see I didn't lose ANY low end TQ, I actually gained some.
Keep in mind tho, that if you do want to run open header there is a bit of a science behind it. Google "collector extensions" you need a distance of pipe beyond the collector in order to gain power.
The biggest gain is mid-range TQ and as you can see by the graph that is where it gained the most power.
Just trying to help disspell some myths....nothing erks me more than misinformation....lol
