Been there...tried dynoing my 06 LS auto. No matter where you position the shifter the tranny downshifts and upshifts causing "bouncing" readings. I tried pushing the throttle slowly and it still downshifts and upshifts. Tried manually shifting it to third gear and putting it back to "I" and giving it gas -- still went back to 2nd. Besides, if you can't put your foot "into" it your HP readings are going to be LOW!

Maven told me you can pull the connector but you'll end up with CELs since there will be no readings form the input and output speed sensors. Best way is with the GM Tech-2 computer -- but Idon't know what it takes to lock it.
