ebay intake quality....or lack there of
just wanted to post these pics for all the guys claiming that the ebay intake is just as good as the AEM. I don't think so so please stop comparing the two and don't even bother with the big dogs like K&N or Injen. the outside welds looked alright so i didn't bother taking pictures of it.
way to promote that people put crap on their cars guys . i must admit though i thought the filter was nice. it's a generic brand but gets a for the design.

Whats up dude, I'm right around Steger/Chicago Heights area, close to 394 and Sauk Trail. We would be damn close, you ran a bit faster times than I did but on a better track. After I get my front mount and header/dp in I'm gonna take a Friday off work and go to 66.

wow, holy crap, the one i got off ebay for 60 bucks was wayyyyyyyyyy better then that there. It was a lil work to not get it to rub, but it sure beats paying 200 to 300 for what 60 bucks and 2 hours of work in 90 degree heat.

Finally a post that states what we have been saying for years.
You get what you paid for... Not only does those "burrs" cause "turbulance" and does not yield top possible HP, those burrs also could get into your engine. Along with that those welds which are burnt through, cause more disturbance in the air flow. This is why there is NOT the same amount of HP increase from a eBay intake to the name brand like K&N and Injen. You wont see that junk from them....

This is why whenever people ask about the eBay CAI I am so adamant that they don't get one and get one of the name brands. remember you get what you pay for and there's a reason that the eBay CAI is $70 and the others are $175-$250...

We get calls these days from folks who bought 'Mitsubishi' turbochargers off eBay. They ask if we can provide repair or replacement parts for their damaged turbos. When we discover what they have, we ask them if they've tried to contact the seller. Inevitably, they relate that the seller is now gone. Which is the truth as far as they know...fact is, the seller just closed up 'shop' after the heat started turning up, then re-opened the scam under a new name. Needless to say, we can't help them...none of our genuine Mitsubishi parts are compatible, and we refuse to even get involved.
What these poor folks bought are counterfeit turbochargers. What they have, not too much after, is garbage. And if they are lucky, the failed turbo didn't put chunks of metal into their engine.
I like this saying better: "You don't get what you don't pay for." If you don't pay for peace of mind, you get F'ed in the A. Sure, buy that cheap-azz $hit and tell everyone what a financial wizard you are while you pour your American dollar$ into some fat Chinese cat's account. I'll bet you are silent when that junk backfires on ya later!
