Probably a dumb question but will this void the suspension warranty? what else would it void?

It will only void the warranty if they can prove that the springs were a direct cause of the problem. So if you bust up a strut on these new springs guaranteed they are NOT going to cover that under warranty. I would imagine you can consider anything suspension related voided if you put these on because depending on your service department they're going to most likely blame these first....but again they have to prove that they were the reason the problem cropped up in the first place .

I'm not really sure if the under carriage could be included in this as well because your car is that much closer to the ground, that you might have to look into.

thanks for the info, any word on people putting new springs on yet? i know with my cavi it was almost a given that you had to get new struts when lowering, is it the same with the cobalt?

All vendors recommend new struts and shocks but as far as I'm aware nothing has been released yet. You will also need an alignment once they are installed. People have installed them with their stock struts and I haven't heard any mention of problems yet but you will definitely shorten their lifespan and should look into replacing them with aftermaket as soon as some become available...better safe than sorry .

IMO, unless you wait for the aftermarkets to be released (struts and shocks), leave em on stock till they wear out, unless you plan on putting stockers back on before you sell it. No point in spending money on struts and springs now when it can be spent on other mods. Deal with it when you need to.
