Engine swap?

No this isn't another one of those I'm putting V8 in delta threads. I was just wondering if I were to buy a used l61 could I just swap it out with my current one? Would it be pretty much pnp? I ask because I have been considering going boosted after tax season and putting it on an l61 with the pistons/rods/cams/valve springs upgraded. Any other things that you'd suggest to put in the engine?

If you currently have an L61, swapping to another one would be completely plug and play. I picked up a second one to put in the corner for now, because down the road I want to fully build it.

Thanks, exactly what I was hoping to hear.

No, desire to go more than 350 being that this is my DD. Also in another thread I asked about the auto tranny power rating and someone said that it's only 230hp, are there any good upgrades to the tranny to to allow more power or would it be recommended to replace it with a different one? If replacement is suggested what I be best off using something like the hhr ss auto tranny?

man idk but my guess would be that it's rated for way more than 230, dont listen to me though just seems pretty low for the potential of these engines for them to reduce it with a shitty tranny..

trannys are not rated to horsepower but torque and the 4t45e is rated to 325 ft-lbs.

it will be plug and play as long as you get the same year model of it. only thing you may need to do is a crank relearn as a part of the tune
