Exaust question

if i were to buy a new catback exaust without a resignator will it throw codes... do i really need the resgingnator|?

Alrite I'm going to assume you mean "resonator" and no you should not throw any codes. Basically all the resonator does is further muffle the sound of the exhaust without reducing flow as a muffler does...the longer the resonator typically the greater the noise reduction.

Exactly. Plus, your resonator would be behind the catalytic converter (second O2 sensor), so there is no way that it could cause any type of problems.

So i seached through the performance section to no help...Does anyone know the dimentions on out stock exhaust??

If you mean piping it's 2.25" on the 2.2/2.4 and 2.5" on the 2.0 (god I hope I got that right I'm out of it today)

you take off the res or the cat car will sound like ass and very loud. If you swithc out the res for a bigger one than fine. But delete it all together and no your car will sound retarted

I don't think GM would put a 2 1/4" piping on the 2.2

It should be like the J-bodies and 2 inch.

I musta been thinking aftermarket then because it seems most companies are going with those sizes on their catback systems. Thanks for straightening that out .
