Exhaust Options

Hey...I've been pretty rigorously searching but I'm still kind of confused on some aspects of this. What exactly is needed for full exhaust on our cars? Obviously header...but I'm piecing together the downpipe connects the header to the cats, then some piping, then the muffler? Is the muffler the same as the catback? I was never clear on that one . Also, how will aftermarket exhaust respond to the o2 sensors and CEL's come inspection time....

My car has an injen CAI, and is otherwise stock. I plan to do exhaust and a 2.4 intake manifold...get a tune...and then keep my hands off of it until its payed off haha. What would be the best bang for the buck solution for exhaust? Is 2.5 acceptable if I were to do a super charge setup down the line? is 2.5 going to be okay for a bolt on setup or is that too large?

I've got some tax return to burn, so I'm looking to spend a bit - but maximize gains for spending, while not pidgeon-holing myself either.

Give me some advice and approximate prices! Thanks guys! Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the noobishness that is evident in this thread
