The turbo will net you over 200+whp and it has been PROVEN to beat Stage 2 SS/SC's.
However, you cannot do an engine swap without messing everything up...the computers are way to touchy...you possibly could get away with it by using an AEM standalone, but thats $1k+ right there..
I mean dude, you get a free car....then you wanna make it fast..which is cool......but dont go callin your car **** and blah blah blah.....if your dad really hated you, he woulda bought you an Aveo LS and welded the windows shut... (and they dont have air conditioners standard).

Tints? It is not a plural word. Tint...singular only. Find a reputable shop to do this. My local shop did mine for around $200 and I have 5% rear and 20% rest. I've gotten a written tint violation warning so if you want to look cool be prepared for tickets. Check your local tint laws before making that decision.
Headlights...I got mine off eBay and they are awesome. They fit decent for a eBay product, yet they do not fog up like most. I paid around $220 shipped.
Body kits and all...well before you buy I recommend you save up $600-$1,200 just for paint labor before you purchase a kit. Get one that flows with the car and get it painted before you go cruising through town.
www.cobaltaddiction.com has a alright list of body modifications. Really only site I've looked at due to only thing I did was change my front bumper from without fog lights to with fog lights. Also, if you get a SS S/C front bumper or these aftermarket front bumpers get the whole kit. Different body lines if you just get a front bumper then it will look tacky.

Not to put down the 2.2 guys or anything but there is only one semi impressive 1/4 mile time that you just listed...

3.)YellowLT,15.34@89.55 w/2.29 60'coupe,manual,I/E/ST
BTW the stocker would easily beat anything from the USA or Japan 26 years ago. Its about 1/2 second faster than a 1981 Corvette or 280ZX Turbo.

lol i would have KILLED to have a car bought for me.
i worked and bought my first car a 94' s-10 for 1G... then yea beat the **** out of it cause well NOONE drives great when they first stat(i also got it 4 foot off the ground from a ramp but hey i was a dumb kid).
my point is great you have the LT learn how the car feels and where it is on the road. then in a year or 2 or even 3 if you want to get a ss/sc or whatever version they might replace it with then you will have a better feel for the car and it will be that much more fun to drive.

i had a 1990 beretta GT and i drove the **** out of it. i knocked the muffler completely off when i went airborn on a back road going abou 75mph. i waited a while to put a new one on because it sounded pretty badass haha. my first vehicle was an 89 astrovan. a big white astrovan. my friends called it the rape-mobile. i was dumb and neutral dropped it at least 6 times a week and eventually blowed up the engine. the point is i payed for both.

I had to buy my balt, I have been driving everyday since i got my permit when i was 14 (i am almost 17) and i even had a school license which i abused (drove around at lunch) and the first car i OWNED was bought for me...it was a $275 POS, 89 acura legend. Ran good but the tranny was crap, no a/c, backseat was tore up and it was rusted in the typical places. when it was cold outside ( 45 degrees F or colder) it would not shift out of second til it was warmed up. I beat the hell out of that car, i tryed to blow the engine (i thought i succeeded once) but then i sold it, drove my dad's 93 dakota 4x4 with the 318 in it, yeah tires with only 8k miles on them were almost shot when i got done (my dad traded it on something else so he didn't care) then i drove my parent's 01 civic EX (5 speed) It was slow as hell. I just bought my brand new cobalt. It is bare basic but i respect it alot more than anything else i have driven that was "practically" mine. I think your dad made a mistake buying you a car like this, he should have bought you a pos early 90s geo metro 3 cylinder auto, then you would appreciate a cobalt a hell of alot more. You get a brand new car handed to you and are not happy...sad.
