flashed out SAI?
so heres the story. i just got tuned on saturday from Trifecta and has Vince tune out SAI or so i thought. i still have stock header and everything on so that when i do want to get my LSJ header on i wouldn't have a code for the SAI being disconnected. well story goes that i turn my car on for the first time after the tune and what do you know. that ******* vacuum like sound is still coming from the SAI pump.
does anyone know if when vince tunes out SAI he is either tuning out just the CODE itself or the operation of the system as a whole. cause i thought after having him tune it out i wouldnt have to hear that noise anymore.
maybe he just forgot to tune it out?
i won't get the header on for at least 4 or 5 days so if it turns out that he didnt do it i wont know til its too late.
anyone else have it flashed out before actually getting the header on? and have had the same problem. and maybe can tell me whether they got a code or not even though the system was still working prior to changing the header?

you won't have to live with the noise because when you take off the stock manifold you also will remove the entire sai system from the car.

What happens is inside the ECU the code is deleted from the list (so to speak) so if it doesn't find the relays or the power doesn't apply to the pump, solenoid and so on it will still run the diagnostic but look through the list for the code to throw and not find it, thereby eliminating the CEL....
As for pulling stuff from the fuseblock to prevent anything and everything from SAI from running...the map is on the inside of the lid, you can pull the air pump relay and fuses and the solenoid relay and so on...hold on a sec I'll go outside and tell you everything you can pull....
AIR PUMP 40A - fuse
AIR PUMP - relay
AIR SOL/AFTERCOOL - relay (I think we can pull this one, because we only have 1 air solenoid on our car, but test it just to be sure)
AIR SOL/AFTERCOOL 15A - fuse
i'm working on a simulator right now for it with one of my buds here in town who has way more microcontroller experience than me, but we're hoping to market it here soon. I need some money haha, the army and UNLV has made me broker than a bum.
But basically all it would be would be pulling out all of the equipment, unplugging the solenoid/pressure sensor in the back and plugging this chip in. I'll keep everyone updated because it'll be cheaper, and easier, than finding someone to tune our cars....

Well I looked in the book and as long as he deleted the 20 something codes related to the SAI system....you should never see a CEL again. And yes the fuse would effectively keep the air pump from running. However I don't get the reason for having it flashed out if you are not going to remove the equipment....seems like a waste of money to me...

oh stfu kyle.
and btw i didnt have to pay more for the sai flashout... i got it done with the rest of my tune. lol.
i wouldnt pay 200 bucks for just a sai flash. i would live with the cel if that was the case.
i should be getting my header and dp done tomorrow. anyone know about how much it should cost?

can get everything you need from walmart for about 50 dollars, including a floor jack and jack stands. that's going to be way cheaper than getting someone to install it, and then you have the tools for next time.
when i first started getting into cars, i was just going to take it somewhere. when i started looking at prices, it was just insane. pay someone else money to twist some nuts and bolts. figured ****, i can twist some nuts and bolts for free
