Am I seeing that image correctly because it looks like it just plugs into the stock air tube as opposed to directly to the throttle body?

That's what it looks like to me.... also, the dyno chart seems to be showing a power loss at lower RPMs... is that normal?

My thoughts exactly and I'm currently trying to get more information on the AEM because I have a feeling it's the exact same thing by looking at the pictures on Gravana's site. The fact they are attaching to the stock air boxes could explain the smaller gains in HP and TQ that AEM and Fujita have seen on the 2.2L over the Injen intake's dynos.

Once I get information back from Gravana about the AEM I'll let you know what I found out. If it does not attach directly to the throttle body like the Injen does it's pretty much a no brainer in my books that the Injen is the better choice. I just sent the e-mail this morning so I would expect to be waiting for a day or two before Gravana gets back to me.

there is nothing wrong with an intake attaching to the plenum on the throttle body and can sometimes be better than running the tubing directly to the throttle body. Had they did this I would say its no biggie however they still have the stock intake tubing in there. Who would pay $255 for a CAI extension? Doesnt look like a full CAI to me...

Wow Jim is quick...already got my response back from Gravana . Here's what he had to say about the AEM. Since I was intending to convert to the SRI in the winter it looks like the Injen is the only one designed to do this but here's what he sent me:

"The AEM intake is a complete multi-piece kit that runs from the TB, but it is not designed to be used as a short ram. The Injen is probably the way to go for you. Keep in mind, there is no HP difference between the CAI and the SRI... Both kits come with detailed instructions."

It sounds like the AEM completely replaces the stock airbox and tubing as does the Injen so we have a couple of options it seems as far as full replacements go. Either way it looks like the AEM or Injen is the way to go for a full airbox replacement .

Hope this helps you out,

unbeliveable

wow $300 for 3 Hp

that is $100 per hp
so lets see here if I want something from this company that adds 100 Hp is should cost me 10 grand
turbo charged is the only way to go!

80 Hp for 3gs can't beat it

ya...i have emailed gravana several times and once i even got 3 different responses in one day. there customer service is for sure up to par... i am just wandering why everyone is so quick to overlook the weapon-r secret weapon intake. ive talked to several people with it and they seem to like it, ive yet to hear a complaint and i think it shows bigger gains than the injen, but dont quote me on that.

if it does its not much, most intakes are the same, same gains, just depends on conditions..... Weapon R's dyno may be lower in sealvl, less humidity, colder air... etc.

that again is a garbage intake, if I was going to get an intake. I would be surprised if they sold one of those. I would get the injen, since all intakes are only going to add like max 6Hp, it all comes down to looks. PIMP the injen is simply!

I know intakes arent really huge power adders, but that's far from enough of a power gain for 250 bucks. That and it's kinda ugly utilizing the stock intake instead of going straight to the throttle body. That's just my opinion though, and I drive a Focus so I cant say much, haha.
