Garrett Alpha Questions

So here's my situation, got a nice bonus coming soon, and i'm looking at getting the Garrett Alpha Kit... But I have some questions.

1. Can the SCT LiveWire be Tweaked by a SCT tuner. IE. Dynotuned
2. What is the Speed Governer Set at on the Stock Turbo SCT Flash
3. What is the Rev Limiter set at on the Stock Turbo SCT Flash
4. How much is the clearance Issue for the charge piping that you cant have a Strut Tower Bar.

I don't know the other questions, but as far as #1 goes...

The tune is just a flash. SCT tuners cannot change it. The shop I spoke to said that SCT and Garrett have some sort of agreement that makes custom tuning impossible for now.

i have the kit on my car, and the rev limit stays the same, im not sure about the rest but my car was up to 220km/h and was fine

alexo06 has this kit and as far as i know he has done quite a bit of research into it so maybe he can help with some answers too

and i was also wondering about if it raised the speed governor cuz my 05 governs at 105 so maybe a lil later down the road that would suck for 1/4 times

The reflash doesnt change the rev limiter, or the governor, and you cannot get it dyno tuned. Garrett spent a rediculous amount of money to pay SCT to create this flash, so garrett owns the tune. They have yet to release it to allow for custom tunes. The nice thing is, its not selling like the planned so hopefully soon they will just say F it and release the tune to buy seperately or allow sct to support it in their next software release.

hey yellow, my rev limiter is the same as befor, and im not sure about the speed limiter, and for the tuning, the flash tuner is the SCT Livewire handheld, but its a special version for the cobalt. for other models the livewire can hold 3 tunes, and moniter engine vitals, but for now for the cobalt there is only one tune, and no moniter function, but SCT is cool because once you have the handheld all the updates they come out with are free downloads, so eventually we will be able to dynotune, but who knows when that will happen.
basically, would i buy the kit, hell yes!!!

1. the only way you're going to be able to tweak the tune is with a piggyback or something of that nature. The tune it comes with is just a handheld reflash.

2. speed governer is unchanged afaik

3. stock

4. the charge pipe goes over the top of the engine. From looking at pics it's either right in the way of it or is in danger of damaging the pipe on the tower bar when the engine torque flexes.

maybe if they'd sell it as a tuneable kit it would sell more... just a thought
