You got 2 members saying you know your **** and I've got to agree there's almost no question you could not answer about ecotecs.
Got to get myself a Downpipe, 04 Cavalier Inj. Harness, Stock SS/SC injectors, sensor kit so I can use my Aeroforce Interceptor as a boost gauge and of course the Garrett GT Tuner Kit.

aka the 2.4 rods are stronger. Allowing them to withstand more power.

Also, I didn't just pay for a larger engine, everything about the SS is better then the LS, from the sound system to the suspension.

If your up for a race with your fast 2.2L, then I got my Subie here waiting for you.

Good Luck with the build!

By glancing at my sig pictures? Notice the intake.
Most on this forum have changed their suspension and audio system from stock anyways. Not trying to start anything, just pointing out that by buying a SS you're paying for something your going to get rid of anyways.

Lol, more 2.2 owners trying to justify their purchase... le sigh

How many 2.2's on this website are at 400whp? How many are even at 300whp? Hell, how many are even in the 13's.

All I ever hear from 2.2 owners is how their car can be made faster than an LSJ for less money, or how it has so much more potential. Also, how they will spend all the money they saved from getting the top model and using that to make it fast.

Problem is, that it's a pain. It's a real pain in the ass and takes a lot of money that most don't have.

I mean, most people buy the LS/LT because they don't have the budget for the SS. So you wouldn't expect many of them to then drop several grand under the hood. I'm going ***** out on my build, so give it time and you'll get results from several members on here.

As far as 13's? There's a lot of NA 2.2's running 13's. (if you count no2)

back on topic, if you put cam gears in you can adjust for the overlap, i'm pretty sure the stage ones have a bigger profile, so screw it try it see what happens.

After doing some research on the web I found that there are a few people on other Ecotec clubs that have used STG. 1 cams with custom turbo kits on their Sunfires, Cavaliers or Saturn Ions and they said it ran just fine. STG. 2 they say would be impossible since it's much more aggressive.

Update from Vince @ Trifecta
He said it could be done using the Garrett Turbo so I will be ordering the parts soon and attempting this build.
