Gas Tank Hole Help
So, I was at Mcdonald's 2 days ago and I started smelling gas, while waiting at the window. I checked out my car, and took pictures of what appears to be a hole near my gas tank. My friend, (who works at the Wal-Mart auto repair) told me that it is a leak in my gas tank. Is there a way to repair this on my own?
I appreciate the Help! P

The fuel module had to be replaced...which is a ~$200.00 part! I tried to give my dealer the recall number, but he said I wasn't covered (I think he is money hungry). Anyway, I bought the part of a gm parts website. All together, it is about a $500.00 fix, if you buy the part yourself and get a garage to install. If I went through the dealership completely, it would be a $1000.00 fix!

I had a similar problem with my car as well and even though my car was not specifically listed on the recall GM took care of me after the dealership told me that because my car wasn't registered in one of those states that it was indeed the same issue that was called out.
If the dealership gives you grief call GM and talk to a rep.
If you could I would try to find out before GM before installing the part.
