im running a 22" glasspack welded to my oem exhaust and it sounds better than the pacesetter and is quieter. all the aftermarket mufflers are really just glasspacks with a shiny stainless shell that cost $100 or more, for $15 you get the same benefits and same sound. go at least 20" and it will have a deeper tone the shorter you go the ricier it will sound.

yea i had a 94 s10 2wd and the 2.2 i tried a glasspack on that well lets just say rice. i hated it. it lasted maybe a few hours to a day till i went and got a dynomax that made it sound nice actually. its wasn't ricey but it sounded deep and smooth.

im not saying it will all sound same as cobalt but on the s10 it was just not good. i have a universal for he time being till garage is finished making mine and i like it. its was fairly deep when i put it on. but its all up to you. i would try the glass pack though. what would it hurt? if ya don like it that just gets something you do like.
