GM CatBack TOURING Performance Exhusts system for 2.2 cobalt (05)
Does anyone have a 2.2 cobalt with a GM CatBack Touring Performance Exhaust system on it or have you taken a ride in a vehicle with one installed?
I am wondering if the external sound from the exhaust is mellow? Of more concern is the internal noise from the exhaust, is it annoying on a highway trip, should it be a concern? GM claims 12 HP gain, you think or not?
I need help on this one Guys..email me please with your perceptions of this GM Touring exhaust system Thanks Ron

WELL. I have the touring on the 2.4. It is a teeny itsy bit louder than the stock exhaust because it comes with 2 mufflers. There is no way in hell it gave 12hp but I got more like 7-8. you would be fine on a highway trip for sure. I took out one of the mufflers on mine personally because it wasn't loud enough IMO and now it is the performace exhaust. The only difference in the performance and touring is that 2nd muffler for sound reduction.

Are you sure? I took out one of the mufflers, the one closest to the cat and it made it just as loud as the performance exhaust.
no you didnt get screwed they just use 1 picture to represent all, pretty unprofessional IMO

I take long trips from visalia, ca to oceanside, ca (about 4 or 5 hours straight) and it doesn't bother me. Its only 'loud' when your smashing the gas above 4k rpm.
Otherwise the road noise from the stock tires are louder at cruising speeds...
just my opinion anywho. If I had a high quality camera i'd show ya but poor quality video is worthless. It is a melow tone like they say, its hard to describe it with out actual video/sound

Not really hard to tell on these 4 bangers. I won't really have the GMPP exhaust anymore once I replace the muffler with a better one. All I will have left is the piping and not much of it. Honestly could've spent $250 getting straight 2.5" piping from catback and muffler and installed but instead I didn't know and spent a total about $600.
