GMPP Exaust systems; how much HP (really)

I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret. If a manufacturer of exhaust claims 12hp gains on our car it doesn't nessessarily mean they're lying because they aren't saying 12 hp peak gains. Meaning if your baseline numbers are 112 and after the exhaust theyre 118, you werent nessessarily lied to. What they do when they claim these numbers is they search the dyno sheet for the part of the powerband that has changed the most, and say thats the gains youll recieve. In a nutshell, if you have 58hp at 3000rpm and after the exhaust you have 70hp at 3000rpm, that's the 12hp they were claiming you to get. This is why everyone who adds up the claimed horsepower to thier peak horsepower gets made fun of.
