Yeah, I have the Injen and I know what you guys are talking about. 4K is about the loudest I think it gets. 5 and 6K I hear my engine/exhaust over the intake, then shift into 3rd, lol!

2nd is the best gear to have fun in (I'm sure most of you know!)

I like mine, but adding the scoop and sealing the intake to the hood so that it breathes from the scoop definitely toned it down inside the cabin (it sounds the same or better from outside).

Have you ever had any comments on your scoop? Also do you plan on painting your scoop to match your stripe? Just curious, nice job though!

No check engine lights. And no I didn't disconnect the battery. The only thing i was cautious with was the MAF sensor and I covered my throttle body.

YOU should first unclip a little gray piece on the MAF sensor then it will unclip. That just for the Harness part of it. leave the Maf sensor in the stock tube until your ready to put it in the GMPP tube. IT will give you a different set of screws to use so don't jump the gun and use the stock ones. I covered mine with a clean shop rag. ill try and post some pics. The only parts that you reuse on the whole instalation is the two hose clamps on the PCV.

Yes, the scoop generates a lot of controversy. Some really like it (I do) and others don't. It's carbon fiber, so I have no plan to paint it. I did make the trim around it match the hood. Take a look at the how to's - click on the links in my sig. Since then I've re-done the gasket on the hood and it's much more professional (looks factory) and added an SS hood blanket with a much better cutout for the scoop hole. I need to take pics and update the how to.

Yes, but for the swap I don't remember taking it off. You can just take the 2 screws out that hold the MAF in the intake tube and CAREFULLY lay it aside with the wires attached. Then when you install the new intake tube you can replace the MAF in the new tube and screw it back down.

NOTE: You MUST use the screws supplied with the GMPP intake (they're in a clear plastic bag). You cannot use the ones that held it in stock - they're different thread.

I unscrewed the filter and then i turned it towards the driver side and it sunk nicely in the air box. Thats what was hangn mine up. I know it sounds dumb but make sure the gasket is snap down, i pushed with moderate pressure and its on there. but that should take care of it.

the accident prolly has a lot to do with it. Mine still sits a little higher also, as you can see in the pic I posted. What I did was I watched while I shut the hood to see what the hell was going on. It was th filter at first, then i turned it and it dropped a little. Now its the rubber seal but its not that bad anymore.
